John B Jacoy

John Bruno Jacoy, our beloved JB, passed away on Wednesday, January 25, 2012 in Garland Texas, surrounded by those who loved him deeply. He was 81 years old.
John was born on March 26, 1930 to Petrina and John Jacoy in Buffalo, New York. John joined the army in 1948, which brought him the extreme good fortune of meeting his loving and devoted wife June. Together they raised five children and created the most vibrant and loving family.
John’s spirit for life was shown in everything he did. He had many interests and passions. He spent his career as an electrical engineer for the telephone company. He was responsible for early innovations in telephone routing technology and was an effective member of the management team. He was a senior member of the IEEE association of engineers for many years. He was also an avid ham radio operator, sailor and musician. Perhaps his most defining characteristic was his love of food. He enjoyed partaking in the best foods and wines and became quite an accomplished chef as a result of his passion.
John is survived by his wife, June Jacoy, and his five children: June Rocco and spouse Sal, Carol Jacoy, John Jacoy and spouse Pam, Steve Jacoy and spouse Pam, and Jane Jacoy. John had the pleasure of having eight grandchildren: Jill Jacoy, Dylan Jacoy, Drew Jacoy, Jordan Jacoy, Nate Jacoy, Mitchell Robinson, Jamie Jacoy, and Sam Jacoy. He was also blessed with four great-grandchildren: Claire Kempner, Shane Jacoy, Liam Kempner, and Mia Jacoy.
To list the hospitals, organizations, doctors, nurses, and caregivers that have assisted John through his entire health struggles would be difficult. There are so many that gave willingly and tirelessly to his care, comfort and well-being. We truly thank those who have been there and helped make his journey a much longer and cherished one.
They say that you should try to sum up a person in three words. This is not possible with JB for he would need double the words. So in six words we would say what he most often said to us, “Where are we going to eat?”
Donations may be made in his honor to the Alzheimer’s Association, 4144 North Central Expressway, Suite 750, Dallas, TX 75204 or to the Southwest Transplant Alliance, 5489 Blair Road, Dallas, Texas 75231.
A visitation for John will be held from 3:00 – 6:00 p.m. on Friday, January 27 at Paradigm Funerals, 1611 N. Central Expressway, Plano, TX 75075.

Our most sincere sympathy on John's passing. We can only hope that all the sailors are gathered together in heaven swapping great stories. I'm sure they are organizing Sandy Beach in heaven. Hopefully Bob and John are sharing great recipes. Thank you for the years of friendship.
