Catherine Frances O’Keefe

Catherine (Nana “O”), 78, went to be with her heavenly Father on December 22, 2011.  She was born on December 20, 1933 in Manhattan, New York to Helen and Charles Bruch.  Catherine was a grateful mother to four wonderful sons.  Forty-three years ago she moved with her family to the Houston area.  She was a proud Alief ISD Registrar for over twenty-five years.  Catherine began her career at Alief Hastings High School as an assistant Registrar and then became the Registrar at Killough Middle School until she retired in 1999.  She devoted most of her time and energy supporting athletics and she was a true football mom before soccer moms even existed.  The last few years, she was the official “ticket lady” for Seven Lakes High School, where her son was the head football coach.  Mrs. O’Keefe is survived by her four sons and their families: Kevin and Anna of Katy and their daughters Ashley and Natalie of Austin, Brian of Willis and his children, Daniel, Kelly, Stephanie and Briley, David and Kendra of Richmond, Mark and Tessa of Lubbock and their children Kathryn Ann and Jack and great-grand children, Sean, Vivian, Elizabeth and Beau.  Most of all, she served the Lord by serving others.

There are no services scheduled at this time.

Donations may be sent to Houston Hospice.

Deepest Sympathy
"If a man die, shall he live again?" asked the man Job long ago.( Job 14:14, King James Version) Perhaps you, too, have wondered about this. How would you feel if you knew that a reunion with your loved ones was possible right here on earth under the best of conditions? Well, the Bible makes the promise: "Your dead ones will live....They will rise up." And the Bible also says: The righteous themselves will possess the earth, and they will reside forever upon it."-Isaiah 26:19; Psalm 37:29. I hope this has brought you as much comfort as it did me in my time of sorrow.

Kevin, Brian, David, and Mark, I'm so sorry to read about your mom's passing. She was without a doubt one of the sweetest and nicest person that I have ever met. The O'keefe household was ALWAYS open to anyone. Either on Stanton or in Alief, your Mom and Dad made everyone feel so welcome. I truly was blessed as I felt part of the O'Keefe family and those memories will always have a specil place in my heart. May god bless her soul for all eternity.

Love,
